Elena is a Mexican - Dutch artist currently living and working in The Netherlands.
She graduated from UNIVERSIDAD IBEROAMERICANA in History of Art, in Mexico, and later from a Master Program in Research of Fine Arts in the HOGESCHOOL VOOR DE KUNSTEN [HKU] in Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Her current work is inspired by the constant searching for balance of her journey into motherhood and a working artist.
Each brushstroke is infused with the echoes of her own past journey, reflecting the complexities of identity and the constant negotiation between tradition and innovation. Being an American migrant and then naturalizing in Europe, sharing two nationalities and dealing with contrasts and cultural differences in everyday's life.
Her exploration in painting is through mixed media techniques and the inclussion of symbols and archetypes.
